Do you like toys? Do you like to skate? Yeah, that's what I thought... me too! Known as deadlemming in the Kidrobot forum, Austrian artist Lilo Krebernik had the genius idea incorporate these two passions into one, magnificent, glorious concept! "I always planned to build a skate bowl, and I wanted to create my own toy for a while already. after a couple of years experimenting with resin every now and then, and being friends with some inspirational guys who released their own toys, I decided to rather work on a larger scale and combine both projects: casting/laminating a giant DIY toy out of a skate able mould."
"The lemming (sometimes a dead lemming) is my signature character. I started to doodle, draw, paint, work with him some years ago; it was featured in different shapes/styles on skateboards, snowboards, t-shirts, goggles and more. I like the misconceptions and myths about lemmings, but even more that their characteristics fit my personal work in a way."Okay, so here's the deal... the 'park' will open to all on July 17th. The Lemming will remain an interactive art piece, as it will become a legal graffiti wall. Come, skate, paint, drink! Okay, I know you are curious.... I will be posting more pics after the event on the 17th, showing you some of the contributions artists have added to this massive DIY. Stay tuned. Can't wait? Yeah, me neither... check out the website 0717!
